In recent years technology has come a long way, and now everyone has a phone with an HD camera; now everyone can record a video everywhere, and with that, we have seen a lot more videos from gyms where people record themselves or others in the gym.
Most of the time, recordings in the gym are innocent; people are just filming their PR or filming themselves to see their form or progress in the gym.
However, we have also seen a significant increase in people filming others in the gym to mock, make fun of, or humiliate them.
Thousands of fitness influencers film themselves in the gym to produce content for their fans.
In most gyms, there are strict regulations on filming; in many gyms, it’s simply not allowed, while in other gyms, you can film yourself when other people are not in the video.

People filming in the gym need to show respect to other gym members who do not want to be in a video and are in the gym to work out.
Bodybuilder Joey Swoll has talked a lot about this in his videos and has said that people filming in the gym should respect other gym members in public gyms and that they don’t have priority over others just because they are influencers and have a large following on social media.
Joey Swoll is on a mission to change toxic gym behavior and has responded to bullies that film others in the gym for likes and attention on social media.
There is a viral video surfacing on the internet of an influencer who doesn’t respect a guy that is working out because she (the influencer) want’s to use that space to record a video for her fans.
The influencer acts like she should have priority in the gym just because she has many followers on Instagram and even said to the guy who refused to move:
My Top Recommended Supplements
Excuse me, you need to literally follow me on Instagram
The guy replies:
I don’t want to, I want to exercise
Influencer Meltdown at Gym (VIDEO)
I think the guy in the gym handled this influencer pretty well, he knew his right to work out without being asked to move in a public gym, and he continued his workout.
Joey Swoll even responded to this video, and here’s what he had to say about it:
I had to so many people tag me in this video, I don’t know who this woman is, I don’t think the gentleman who posted this is the man in the video but to think that just because you are filming in the gym and you are an influencer, you have the right to tell somebody in the middle of their set to move, just so you can film, is absolutely ridiculous and wrong. You know just because you have a big following or are an influencer doesn’t mean you are better than others or that you have priority over them, you don’t. If anything you should look at having a large following or being an influencer as having the responsibility to influence, to influence people to do better, to be kinder, and to be more respectful. This video does the exact opposite, you know, unfortunately, we live in this culture today on social media where influencers and content creators think they are better than others, this egotistical self-absorbed, arrogant idea that needs to stop. I hope this gym sees this and kicks this woman out, she owes that man an apology, and today young lady if you do see this, you need to do better, and mind your own business.
