Current world record holders in the heaviest bench press is held by Julian Maddox who lifted 770 lbs in the bench press (raw) in March.
However, Wearing a special bench shirt the world record is held by Will Barotti at 1105 lbs
Keep in mind that Scot Mendelson was attempting the lift wearing a bench shirt which is different than lifting raw.
There is a big difference in world records from raw lifts to shirt lifts because the shirt makes the lift a bit easier.
Scot was going for the world record in the video below and he is going to continue to try to beat the world record in bench press.
