In a video with old-school bodybuilder Ric Drasin, Rich discusses Synthol use and if he had ever tried it.
He also did a video with Furious Pete on the subject where he also admitted to having tried it.

When Rich was alive and well, he was often accused of using Synthol to enhance the look of his muscles.

Here’s what Rich said about Synthol in an interview with Ric Drasin.
The truth about it is that I’ve tried it, I’ve tried pretty much anything out there that is to try because this is what I do. the people that have used it are the people that know, and the people that have never used it are the ones that have no idea what they are talking about. People that have used it will know that it is a nightmare, it’s painful and it ruins the look of the muscle. Completely ruins it, blurs it, soft, watery, bloated, the veins go away pretty much ruins every aspect of the muscle.
Ric then asks Rich Piana how he used Synthol and what method he used.
Rich had this to say about the time he tried Synthol.
I basically followed the protocol that everyone in the world has followed and everyone that talks to me says Im going to try Synthol and I don’t even know if they are going to try Synthol because they google synthol and they see the protocol on the internet and they follow that. The protocol on the internet is basically bullshit, it’s not going to work, it’s a waste of time , they are gonna go through pain, trauma, not going to get very good workouts and the end result you might get a quarter of a inch in your arm but your arm is going to look smaller because of the bloaty inflammation it causes.
Rich also discusses the harmful long-term effects of Synthol use.
He says that when you inject Synthol into the muscle, it will not get the oxygen and nutrients it needs; with time, that will cause muscle cells to die, making your muscle smaller after using Synthol.
