Rich Piana the bodybuilder unfortunately passed away back in 2017, he was really popular and frequently posted videos on his youtube channel were he shared everything he was up to in an honest way.
Back in the day when Rich Piana started to train he aspired to be a competitive bodybuilder.
He was serious about being the best bodybuilder in the world but he soon realised there wasn’t much money to be made for the competitive bodybuilder.
Rich never managed to get to an elite level as a competitive bodybuilder and in interview he explains this when asked “when is your next show?”
“I am not a competitive bodybuilder, I am all about making money. Yeah so no more competition for me but that was always a dream of mine and I give great respect to anyone doing it because it’s a hell of a lot of work”
Rich Piana last competed in a bodybuilding show in 2011, a few years after that he started his Youtube channel which was really successful.

What seprated Rich form others was that he was honest, he wasn’t pretending to be a natural he said things as they were.
That’s probably the reason why most people liked Rich Piana and he was one of the most successful youtubers in the fitness and bodybuilding scene.
In 1999 Rich Piana competed and what is surprising is the great physique he had at the time.
Even though Rich Piana didn’t make much out of his bodybuilding career he still used it well to educate others on how to build muscle and lose fat on his youtube channel.
