Phil Heath 7x Mr Olympia has been in the spotlight in recent years for his incredible accomplishments on the bodybuilding stage and he has also been criticized hard for his gut problem.
41-year old Phil Heath placed 3rd in the Olympia 2020, he has had some problems with his gut in recent years, he underwent a surgery to fix his hernia before competing in 2021.
Phil won the Olympia last time back in 2017 and we really hope that Phil continues to compete at the highest level as he might be able to tie Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney at 8 Mr Olympia titles.

Phil Heath’s wife Shuri made a post about the struggles Phil has been facing for the past few years and explanation why he has had a gut problem.

I’m so happy that @PHILHEATH has trusted me with his health. I have been on a healing journey for many years. I have traveled around the world to see doctors in hopes of finding answers. I have had to be my own best doctor and through that, I have learned a “few” things along way.
Gut microbiome issues are such a monster to heal. It takes diligence and patience. Unfortunately most Humans suffer with gut microbiome issues due to GMO, Medication, Water ( through showers and drinking it) poor quality food and the biggest beast of them all- STRESS!!!!
There are many layers to healing!! Many don’t know that @philheath has been through an insane amount of stress and hardship. The loss of his father while he was guest posing, an extremely expensive, very hostile, emotionally draining, ongoing divorce battle, the loss of his step mom, helping his brother who is very high functioning autistic who has no parents, and loss of companies he built due to bad partnerships.
I have been with Phil for 6 years and I have seen countless stupid jokes about Phil’s stomach and how he is “pregnant” the gut comments from judges, fans and fellow ifbb pro’s. Hate comes with being the best, especially while being the first Mr.O to endure social media. Fact is, Phil experienced hate in high school and college while playing ball lol it is nothing new and he knows it comes with the territory.
No one knows what happens behind closed doors and no one will live in your pain. I know its hard to believe that under all of that muscle, phil is actually a human being just like YOU! The stress he carries in his body is beyond what anyone could imagine and he won 7x with that stress and pain and never once complained or made excuses.
I am so proud to help him in this chapter. The best chapter that involves continued healing, letting go of traumatic past bs, unconditional love and the freedom to be himself! @philheath I am proud of your resilience, strength and your relentless pursuit for greatness in ALL you do. I love you!
