52-Year old natural bodybuilding superstar Mike O’Hearn has been training almost his whole life.
Mike has been training for 42-years and is very knowledgeable about training, dieting, and how to do it correctly with good results.
When it comes down to rep ranges and warmup Mike has a very good philosophy.
He says:
I will maby do 10 reps before starting my set, other people are doing 4-warmups , 10-15 reps in total 60 reps so the time they get to their working set, they are tanked.
While all I was trying to do was wake up the nervous system, get some blood into the muscle and then get to work so im doing 10, by the team I get to 30 reps total im done, while other people are going through 100 reps for one exercise
Mike has a good point it definitely makes sense to not overdo the warmup.

Even though we might assume that to maintain the insane physique Mike has that he trains for 4-hours in the gym every day to get better that is absolutely not the case.
It’s the least amount of work for the most benefits. It’s not about training hard it’s about training smart, if you wanna do this for a long time you have to train smart.
