Joey has said previously that many people are afraid to go to the gym because they feel intimidated.
It doesn’t help the situation when everyone has a camera on their phone nowadays and can film anything.
Many videos surfaced online of people filming others in the gym to belittle them.
A recent video has been circulating on the internet when a lifter calls a gym staff member “Karen” for asking him to leave the gym because it was closing.
Joey Swoll was not amused and replied to the lifter that posted the video:

So because this woman wants you to leave because the gym is closed like she is supposed to do in her job, you decide to call her a “Karen” really? Not to mention she says it’s 5 o clock and it’s closing and it probably means it’s the weekend or holiday and she most likely wants to go home and enjoy herself or spend time with her family. You should have been respectful and just left but instead, you decided to post this to make fun of her, you owe this woman an apology or the gym should revoke your membership, you guys hear me all the time respecting others in the gym, that goes for the people that work there to, I don’t care if it is the owner, the trainer, this woman or one of the janitors who are mistreated all the time. if you can’t respect others, stay home, you don’t belong there, mind your own business.
