When asked about whats the number of optimal meals per day for lifters, Lee Priest’s answer is definitely different from what other gurus in the sport suggest.

Lee Priest : What’s The Number of Optimal Meals Per day?

Lee Priest explains that everyone is different and everyone reacts differently.

So the optimal meals per day are what suits you the best, it could be 2 meals per day or 8 meals per day.

In the offseason, Lee Priest explains he ate sometimes just 2 meals per day and had small snacks such as a banana or a protein shake in between.

Nobody knows it’s the same with how much protein do you need? Everyone is different some say 1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight, some say 2 grams, some say 2.5, you just gotta see what works for you.

Lee didn’t like force-feeding his body and he didn’t eat a lot in the offseason, he says that you don’t have to overdo the calorie intake in the offseason to maintain your muscle mass.

However, closer to the contest he ate more regularly and he ate smaller meals, that’s because he was doing more cardio and his metabolism was higher closer to the contest. It was also because he ate healthier meals that didn’t leave him full for too long.

In the offseason when I had a meal, let’s say I had something bad like Mc. Donalds, that shit makes your gut feel full for like 6 hours, so I might not eat for 6-7 hours after that big Mc. Donald’s meal. I might get 3 normal hamburgers, a fillet of fish, 20 chicken nuggets, sometimes I would fries, get a shake, and a large chocolate sundae so it wasn’t like crazy, crazy, just because it was full of fats you knew you’d get bloated for a while.
