Fact Checked

Joey Swoll is on a mission to change gym behavior, he is known as the CEO of gym positivity.

Joey is a seasoned bodybuilder and has been famous in the fitness scene for a long time, now Joey uses his huge social media platform to encourage gym positivity and call out people that have toxic behavior in the gym.

So far Joey has come to the defense of many innocent gym goers that are filmed in the gym by others and made fun of, labeled as perverts, or mocked by people filming them.

Joey Swoll has also said that many people are scared to go to the gym and when people are filming innocent people doing nothing wrong in the gym and posting it online it discourages many people from ever starting training in the gym.

The recent trend on TikTok has been filming innocent gym-goers and making fun of them, making them look like a pervert or belittling them.

Take The Quiz

Joey Swoll is here to stop this toxic gym behavior as these videos generally get a lot of views but they can ruin the reputation of innocent gym goers minding their own business.

In a recent video, a woman accuses a man of staring at her in the gym, even though the man was definitely looking he wasn’t staring like a creep.

Since when is it not ok to look at other people in the gym for a few seconds?

Joey Swoll posted a video correcting the woman.

Here’s what Joey had to say :

First, of I wouldn’t really define this as a stare, he’s walking from one end to the barbell to the other end to change weights and he even looks down briefly in the middle. I would as far as to say hey, this is simply one gym rat acknowledging another gym rat that’s doing the same exercise to say hey you look great which you do, great job that’s impressive. I do this all the time and there are no bad intentions behind it. I don’t like how you say in the caption that you posted this because it is funny. Women are harassed in gyms and it needs to stop, this is not a joke, it’s also not a joke to portray somebody in a video to make them look like a pervert or someone that stares at women in your gym community. This can be horrible for this mans image, his family, you need to do better, mind your own business.

  1. Thanks Joey. I am 47 and I go to the gym alot, I bust my ass working out and I hardly talk to anyone. I mind my business because this is my me time. But on a few occasions gals have been rude and I have caught them mean mugging me and I have had words with guys because I’m supposedly staring.

  2. There is a certain camaraderie amongst those going to the gym. This includes lending a hand in time of danger, boosting moral with words of encouragement, or even acknowledging someone’s achievement by giving an audience. That’s one reason why people go to the gym; to be part of the camaraderie. Otherwise train in your garage or basement.
