Because of the rules in that event, Thor didn’t get one of his reps counted as he “double-dipped” in the Viking Press, which is against the rules.
With 14 reps completed, it was a reasonable effort from Hafthor Bjornsson; however, he did get one rep disallowed.
Eddie Hall was next up and beat Thor by managing 15 reps in the Viking Press, and that’s when things escalated.
Eddie Hall is mad that even though he won the World Strongest man fairly, all the headlines were about how Thor was robbed at the World Strongest Man 2017; Thor even put out that statement himself.
By Thor putting out this statement the main focus after the World Strongest Man, the press focuses more on how Thor was robbed rather than focusing on the incredible win of Eddie Hall.
