Recently discussed a debatable topic in bodybuilding which is bulking.
BULKING or CUTTING? We teamed up with the number one bodybuilding supplement brand on the market to help you take your results to the next level. A free custom supplement plan designed to enhance your results.
Many bodybuilders bulk in the offseason in order to gain as much mass as possible, however, Greg believes this is not the correct approach.
Greg Doucette Believes Bulking is a bad idea
Greg Doucette made a video explaining why he thinks bulking is not a good practice for bodybuilders.
he believes that bodybuilders should look like bodybuilders all year round and not get fat in the offseason.
Here’s what Greg had to say on the subject:
I think maingaining is the way to grow, don’t get fat in the offseason. If you are a bodybuilder you should look like a bodybuilder, you shouldn’t be fat if you are a bodybuilder. If you can’t see your abs then you are fat.
I said if you don’t have abs you are fat, guess what is covering your abs? maby a little bit of water but for the most part it’s fat.
If this layer of fat is so thick that you can’t see any abs, no visible outlines of abdominals, you are fat.
If you are a man and can’t see any abs, you are probably fat and I looked up the definition of fat and tried to find the medical definition and what the exact way to explain what fat is, and all I could say was if you are over a BMI of 25 then you are fat, if you are overweight it was saying that you are fat.
Fat means overweight by definition medically I coach Greg am Obese and I have abs, but technically I am fat, technically overweight but it’s overweight by BMI. I am talking about body fat percentage and because I have abs there is no way you could say I am fat.
But when I say you are fat because you don’t have abs, it’s because you are.
