51-year old Dexter Jackson “The Blade” has been a competitive bodybuilder on a high level for almost 30 years. He has many great wins under his belt as he has won the Arnold Classic 9 times and he won Mr. Olympia once back in 2008.
Despite being one of the oldest competitor in bodybuilding Dexter has been able to stay at the top despite his age.
Last year he got 4th in the Mr Olympia despite being 50 years of age at that time.
Dexter Jackson is truly one of the greatest bodybuilder of all times and is just remarkable how consistent he has been for the last decades competing.
Dexter last won the Arnold Classic in 2016 and ended up 3rd place in Olympia that year.

You see Dexter has competed at the Mr Olympia 21 times and 16 times he has been in the top 6 or higher.
Dexter could arguably compete for a few more years with good success however we have to respect how long he has been a competitive bodybuilder at the highest level without ever losing his touch.
I guess it is a good thing that Dexter is deciding to retire while he is in good health and still competing for awards.
Dexter probably could go on competing until he is 60-years old because it just seems like this man doesn’t age at all.
To put things into perspective Jay Cutler is 4 years younger than Dexter Jackson and he retired form competitive bodybuilding 6 years ago at 41 years old.

“By the grace of God and the genetics thanks to my parents, I can continue doing this as long as I wanna do it, but there comes a time when you know there’s time to walk away. The goal is to retire right now”
Dexter also explains he a has a lot of Brazilian fans and really does want to do a show there in April.
“I got a lot of Brazilian fans I owe it to them, who knows maby I will compete in April”
