If you think you have what it takes to beat the world record in deadlift, you may be in luck as Giants Live are offering a reward of $55,000 for deadlifting 505 kg’s
The current deadlift record is held by Hafthor Bjornsson, who live-streamed himself from his home gym in Iceland when he deadlifted 501 kgs in 2020 around two years ago.
The previous record was held by Eddie Hall, who was the first man in history to deadlift half a ton (500 kg)
Giants Live is hosting the Giants Live Open Deadlift Challenge, held on 6th August 2022 in Wales, Cardiff.
The best deadlifters in history, Hafthor Bjornsson and Eddie Hall, will most likely not participate in the event because they have been preparing themselves to fight each other in a boxing match for the last two years.

The boxing match between Eddie and Hafthor is set to take place on the 19th of March 2022.
Both Hafthor and Eddie have retired from strongman, and they have dropped a significant amount of weight.
It’s unlikely they will take on the deadlift challenge as they have dropped so much weight and probably lost a lot of strength in the process.
However, they may get back into strongman training after the boxing match.
Russian lifter Ivan Makarov is the most likely to complete the challenge; Ivan had already attempted to break Hafthor’s record when he tried to lift 502 kgs and was pretty close to lifting the weight.

Ivan attempted the 502 kg lift back in 2020 in the World’s Ultimate Strongman series, now Ivan has had more time to train himself for the weight and is one of the most likely guys to break the record.
