There are countless gyms worldwide, and it seems like every other person trains in a public gym these days.

Some gyms have their own rules, while there aren’t many rules in other gyms.

Many annoying things happen in public gyms because there are no rules or people don’t follow the rules.

There should be consequences for not following gym rules, and In this post, we will go over the five rules every gym needs to have.

I can’t comprehend why people need to film others in the gym to make fun of them or belittle them.

There should be severe consequences if someone records another gym member and posts the video on the internet.

Gym membership of people filming others should be provoked, with no second chances.

Even though someone may be doing a strange exercise or lift with the lousy form, it doesn’t justify filming them to make fun of.

Rerack the weights or get banned for a month

There are way too many people who don’t rerack their weights, I have trained in many gyms, and in every single one of them, there are people who don’t rerack the weights.

Even though flyers hung up around the gym telling people to rerack the weights, many people don’t do it.

Why do they don’t they rerack the weights?

Because there are no consequences, if a person constantly doesn’t rerack the weights, they should be banned for a month from the gym.

Maby then people will start reracking their weights like they are supposed to do.

Time limit for equipment during busy hours

There are loads of people in the gym that are chit-chatting, taking forever to complete their sets.

This can be frustrating in a busy gym, and I believe a time limit for equipment such as squat racks and bench presses can be reasonable.

This rule may not be needed all the time, but why can’t we limit the bench press to 12 minutes during busy hours?

You should easily be able to do five sets within a 12-minute time frame.

There are people just on their phone for 5 minutes in between sets taking forever to complete; however, they couldn’t do that if there was a time limit.

This rule only makes sense if there is limited equipment available in a gym during busy hours.

Provide beginners with a trainer to learn the correct lifting form

There are loads of new people in gyms worldwide that don’t know what they are doing.

It should be mandatory for gyms to provide beginners with a trainer that teaches the correct way of lifting weights and even a beginner workout plan.

If the beginner wants to learn from a trainer, it should at least be available for free once they sign up for a new gym.

It may take years for someone to learn the basics, and often beginners injure themselves because they lift too heavy and with bad form.

You have to wipe off sweat or get banned for a week

There are few things more annoying in any gym than seeing that the bench or equipment you will use is soaked in sweat.

No one likes to lay in the sweat of other people.

There should be a rule in every gym that you have to wipe it off the equipment if you sweat much.

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against sweating and people working hard in the gym, but when there is a puddle of sweat on the bench I will use, I will have to clean the sweat up before even starting to work out.

I’d see we put a week ban on people that leave equipment soaked in sweat without cleaning it up.
