This reason certainly isn’t stopping everyone from quitting the gym, as countless people have stuck to the gym for years and gotten excellent results.

However, many people start working out as a new years resolution and don’t last in the gym because, after two months of hard work, they don’t see the results they were hoping for.

If you have been in the gym for some time, you know it is hard work and consistent work for years that gets you actual results.

As soon as people find it hard to get in shape, they quit it together; they think it is easier than they thought and don’t want to invest their time and money putting in the work because it’s not that important to them.

They Think They Will Get Girls

Many guys think that once they got some muscles and a six-pack, girls will line up to talk to them and be interested in them.

I can tell you from my own experience this is not the case.

Sure it doesn’t hurt to have an impressive body, but that will not mean you will have 20 Dm’s on Instagram every night from hotties all over the place trying to get to know you.

Many guys start training because they want to impress girls, sure, it will impress some of them, but most don’t care.

That’s when some guys who only lift for girls will quit the gym altogether.

The Diet Is Hard

It can be mentally challenging if you are on some diet and your goal is not to dirty bulk.

The diet part of the gym lifestyle is probably the hardest.

Training is hard, but it’s also fun at the same time.

While the diet can be so mentally challenging, you have to say no to many temptations if you are dedicated to your diet.

It’s hard to get a six-pack mainly because most people will need a relatively strict diet, and that’s also the biggest downfall of people attempting to drop body fat; they can’t stick to a diet consistently and throw in the towel.

You Compare yourself to fitness superstars.

One of the worst things you can do to your mental state is compared yourself to fitness superstars in the industry.

Even though you may have a better body than 99.9% of the population, when you compare yourself to a fitness superstar, you will look like shit.

That’s the sad reality of the situation; try to be proud of the physique you have already built and slowly improve it.

If you are not a competitive bodybuilder you don’t need to compare yourself to professional competitors.

That’s also so demoralizing that many people just quit because they realize they are so far off from their favorite fitness idols’ physiques.

You stopped enjoying training suddenly.

Enjoying your workouts is key to staying on the path to greatness.

Suddenly you may lose motivation and feel like your workouts are a chore rather than something enjoyable.

At that time it’s crucial to stay disciplined at that time, and you may want to change your workouts.

If you stop enjoying lifting weights, try running and only lifting weights 1-2 times a week to maintain most of your muscles.

Try to find an activity you enjoy. Eventually, you will get that beast mentality again and enjoy lifting heavy weights.

However, many guys stop going when their training sessions become mundane and boring.

You get a girlfriend.

Some guys stop doing the things they enjoyed before getting a girlfriend, including hitting the gym regularly.

I’m sure you know someone who got a girlfriend and stopped showing up to the gym to spend time with her.

At first, you may not notice anything different, but with months of no workouts and a worse diet, your physique starts to take a different shape.

You get fatter and lose hard-earned muscle mass, eventually feeling depressed and disgusted with yourself.

It’s sad, but it happens all the time to guys.

You Work More Hours/are a new parent.

One of the most common reasons guys stops working out is that they change jobs where they have to work more hours or have a kid.

It’s no secret that both will significantly affect your free time, and that’s when many guys prioritize other things over the gym.

However, with good planning and dedication, you don’t have to stop going to the gym.

You can buy a barbell with some weights and work outside in the yard while your kid is asleep.

You can do a short workout after or before your long shift at work.

At least most people could work out despite these challenges, but they stopped going to the gym altogether.
