It’s apparent that they’re a UK-based outfit, who direct all their customers wanting to purchase their supplements to a third-party retailer.

The ethos behind the Warrior brand is to “make the strong, stronger—and the best, better”. Yawn.

Apart from that, there’s little more information on these guys. I’m sure it’s all completely innocent, but it does begin to plant seeds of doubt.

How Does Warrior RAGE Work?

Warrior RAGE themselves don’t explain how their product functions (perhaps they assume all their users are biologists and chemistry freaks).

Hence, for the purpose of this Warrior RAGE review, I’ve examined the ingredients and deduced that these are the main physiological processes that the supplement is trying to encourage:

Promoting the mTOR Pathway

To be fair, this is the only indication on their social media pages of how Warrior RAGE functions.

Basically, ingredients in the supplement may contribute towards the activation of mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin). In simple terms, putting the body into an anabolic state and promoting muscle protein synthesis.1

Increasing Blood Flow

Some of the compounds in this supplement may widen the blood vessels, increasing the delivery of nutrients and oxygen to the body’s tissues and muscles.

In doing so, this may boost pumps, elevate stamina, and promote faster muscle growth.

Elevating ATP Levels

Warrior RAGE might increase the amount of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) in muscles.

In order for muscles to contract, they require ATP. The issue is, with each rep, ATP stores are depleted. When they’re exhausted, the muscles cannot work any further and signals the end of your set. That’s whether you’ve reached your rep count or not.2

Boosting ATP levels means that you can work longer and harder, increasing endurance and stamina.

Heightening Energy and Focus

By including stimulants, Warrior RAGE may elevate energy and determination pushing each element of your training to the max.

Preventing Acidosis

In intense exercise, oxygen reserves can become depleted which lowers the pH of the muscles and induces acidosis.

This results in muscle pain, soreness, and even failure. Some compounds in this supplement could prevent this onset and allow you to work longer.3

Above are the Warrior RAGE pre workout nutrition facts taken from the supplement label. But, if you’re not familiar with what these compounds can do, let me use this part of this Warrior RAGE review to explain.

Creatine Gluconate

An ingredient which research has illustrated can elevate levels of the muscle-powering ATP.4

In doing so, endurance is raised meaning you push your body harder yielding faster and more impressive results.

Beta Alanine

This amino acid helps to prevent muscle acidosis by inhibiting lactic acid production.5

Sodium Bicarbonate

Many pre-workouts include this ingredient (basically, baking soda) as it’s an alkaline substance—theoretically able to offset acidosis.

While there’s some evidence suggesting this is the case, there’s much more opposing research indicating that it has no effect on physical performance.6

BCAAs

BCAAs (branched-chain amino acids) are powerful ingredients. They have the ability to stimulate the mTOR pathway for muscle protein synthesis, increase endurance, and improve recovery.7

However, as explained in the next section of this Warrior Rage review, their inclusion in a pre-workout is questionable.

Arginine and Citrulline

Two compounds which, through promoting the production of nitric oxide, open up the blood vessels—boosting pumps and elevating endurance.8 9

Caffeine

A stimulant which can increase vitality, energy, and focus. Although it can come with unwanted side effects—detailed later in this Warrior RAGE review.10

Taurine

Research has shown that taurine may offset the unwelcome side effects that caffeine induces in some users.11

Vitamin B6

An important nutrient which can boost red blood cell production—important for oxygenation and muscle building.12

The Warrior RAGE review nutritional data above illustrates that it does include some scientifically proven training boosters. Yet, are they the best compounds for enhancing performance?

However, although when reviewing the ingredients I indicated it contained other proven training boosters, it’s not that simple.

Let me show you:

  • Creatine—while able to boost ATP production, research has indicated its best-taken post-exercise, not before.13
  • BCAAs—if you’re consuming protein you may already be receiving enough amino acids. Additionally, studies show they work after exercise, not during.14

Finally, the citrulline dose of 500 mg is laughable and unlikely to have any effect at all. The best pre-workouts on the market contain around 6000 mg.

Was Warrior RAGE Ever Banned?

Despite this being a commonly held belief, it appears that the RAGE supplement banned rumor is a case of mistaken identity, not fact.

A few years ago, the Rage pre workout Centurion Labz was withdrawn from sale as it contained the banned substance DMAA (dimethylamylamine). Although, it has now been replaced by the legal God of Rage Preloaded.15

It appears this is where this misconception has come from—guys assuming Centurion Labz Rage and Warrior RAGE are the same supplement.

The 300 mg dose of caffeine is high—even for a pre-workout. Loading with this amount of this stimulant may well induce adverse reactions, even though it contains the protecting ingredient taurine.

Common reactions are headaches, nausea, agitation, irritability, stomach cramps, and diarrhea.

Furthermore, beta-alanine can invoke “pins-and-needles” symptoms, known as the beta-alanine itch. It’s harmless and soon passes. But, it’s quite a common side effect among users.16

The main issues are these:

  • The majority of ingredients (apart from caffeine) are underdosed.
