The Mountain didn’t get his name for nothing.
He is a start of the Game of Thrones and Hafthor Bjornsson was a man on a mission at the recent World’s Strongest Man event, which he was trying to win for the first time.
The Icelandic native is 6ft 9 and has already won the Europe’s Strongest Man event twice. The World’s Strongest Man this year was held in Botswana, and the giant had a huge first day at the event.
He destroyed the Loading Medley, which is an event where you have to sprint with huge barrels down a track all in the sweltering African heat.
He then won the Fingal’s Finger event, which put him at the top of the standings in his group.
He did perform poorly on day 3 at the car deadlift, as he only managed 3rd place with six reps.
But he made amends in the keg toss, where he smashed his own previous world record.
Nobody even got close to his massive 7.15m throw, with a 15kg keg over a high bar. This is incredible!
