People who don’t train always seem to have their own opinions on those that do. If they did a little less talking a little more time spent in the gym, they might have a different perspective. They are ignorant on a lot of things related to getting stronger, healthier and better looking.
- “You are on steroids”
To get that large, it takes a lot more than injecting some steroids. Even if someone is juicing, it is nobody else’s business. Some people think that everyone that’s big in the gym got that way by taking steroids and not working insanely hard and being very disciplined.
- “Have you looked at the crazy photos where people inject oil?”
Of course you have seen those pictures where people inject too much synthol. They are strange and funny to look at, but these people do have a problem. People who have spent years in the gym sweating and working hard have earned the right to have a laugh at these people, but if you aren’t a lifter, you have no right to do so.
- “Can you train me?”
Many people want to be trained for free, as if it is a hobby training other people for fun. If you like to play the guitar, I won’t be asking you to write me a song would I? Just because I have taken the time to read and research all about nutrition and training doesn’t mean that I have the time to share all of this knowledge with you. While I can answer some questions, I do not need another full time job. There are people who do this for a living, it’s called a trainer.
- When people just stare at you
While this isn’t the worst, it’s as if some people never knew large muscles actually existed.
- “Can I have your number?”
Maybe if you took better care of yourself and put in the long hours into the gym to look and feel great.
- “Are you able to spot me?”
While I am more than happy to spot you if you need help, if you are doing a lift with very light weight for high reps, there is no point doing so. You will be just fine.
- “I’d be that big if I had the time and money”
I just know how to budget my time, I’m not rich or have all the time in the world to train. I make sacrifices, like not watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones so I can go training. You need to make time and you cannot buy large biceps unless you are paying with hard work.
- “I wish I had your…”
It could be your biceps, legs whatever. This physique took years of work, so get started.
