Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout Review: ingredients list

I’m not a fan of energy drinks, but I know far too many people who swear by them and one of the most popular brands is Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout. The whole formula relies on a 7 gram serving distributed across far too many ingredients. Here’s to hoping Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout didn’t mess the whole thing up and justifies its popularity.

Vitamins

  • Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12. I just thought it’s a good idea to always mention when supplements use really good forms of vitamins for maximum absorption. Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout’s B6 and B12 vitamins make use of premium forms which is crucial when it comes to restoring depleted vitamins stores. The dosage is wanting, but they’re not the main ingredients so I can let this pass.

Energy Complex, 1.85 g

  • Taurine is one of the two most popular ingredients in energy drinks, the other one being caffeine. Taurine has a lot of benefits for fatigue and even stress, but as a pre workout it helps with muscle hydration. Better muscle hydration can lead to better endurance.
  • Citrulline Malate. This form is the best for maximum pumps and vasodilation. The science around citrulline malate is sound, but the fact that we’re getting less than 2 grams here (maybe not even 500 mg) tells us this ain’t working on no muscle lifts.
  • 150 mg of caffeine is just about a cup and a half of freshly brewed coffee. I personally prefer a minimum of 200 mg to 250 mg, but maybe the addition of taurine can help with the low dose.
  • Another ingredient that works really well with caffeine and taurine. This helps delay the onset of fatigue by preventing the chemical changes that lead to fatigue in the first place.
  • N-Acetyl L-Carnitine. This fat burner enhances the body’s ability to convert stored fat into energy by driving fat into cells which are then metabolized efficiently.
  • Velvet Bean. Oddly enough, this is a good ingredient for testosterone and stress. Not sure about their angle on energy, bro. If it does have an angle, it ain’t what it’s known for.

Focus Complex, 1.2 g

  • Tyrosine is known for its nootropic effects on focus and general brain function. It’s not the best form of tyrosine, though.
  • Choline bitartrate. A really cheap form of an important brain chemical. The problem with choline bitartrate is the limited bioavailability. It would have been a bit fine if Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout added it with at least 500 mg, but we don’t know for sure thanks to the prop blend.
  • N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine. The best form of tyrosine for function and absorption. This is a weird addition for me, because they clearly wanted tyrosine in the blend so why not give all the tyrosine dosage for this one and call it a day?
  • Adenosine-5 Triphosphate Disodium Salt. I don’t really see this as a good ingredient for the mind. It does have some science regarding uses as a nootropic that promotes active thinking, but it’s really more of an energy-muscle ingredient.
  • Toothed Clubmoss extract. It enhances brain chemicals, overall mental energy, and even brain cell regeneration. It works by reducing enzymes that break down acetylcholine, the very compound responsible for our ability to learn, memorize, and think fast.
  • Bacopa Leaf. This herb is one of the best in the business when it comes to enhancing our ability to retain memory and have a clear mindset. The problem is, the dosage is likely too small for it to be of any use.

Antioxidant Complex, 163.5 mg

  • Acai (Cabbage Palm) Berry Extract, Pomegranate Fruit Extract, Pineapple Fruit Powder., Apple Fruit Powder, Orange Fruit Powder, Blueberry Fruit Powder, Grape Seed Powder, Grapefruit Seed Powder, Plum Fruit Powder, Raspberry Fruit Powder, Strawberry Fruit Powder, Watermelon Fruit Powder, Lemon Fruit Powder, Lime Fruit Powder, Melon Fruit Powder, Sour Cherry Fruit Powder, Papaya Fruit Powder, Peach Fruit Powder, Pyrus communis Fruit Powder. This entire blend is just one big antioxidant mix that does away with stress as well as help a bit for fat loss. Kinda funny how Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout included everything just to show the customers that it’s more than just an energy drink.

Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout Review: formula analysis

To be honest with all of you, I’ve yet to be impressed in my Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout review. I sort of expected more coming from a super hyped energy drink, but now I think I overestimated a brand that’s not even supposed to be for lifters.

The Energy Complex is the driving force, but I can’t help but feel that they didn’t fully support a mix of ingredients with good potential. Taurine and Caffeine are effective as a combination, but everything else falls flat with regards to performance. The Citrulline Malate and N-Acetyl L-Carnitine in particular require upwards of 2 and 1 gram respectively for a decent function. Velvet bean isn’t supposed to be added for energy as much as it is used for testosterone.

The Focus Complex is okay, but still not enough to change the disappointed tone of this review. If you’re going to use two tyrosine ingredients, just use one preferably the more potent N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine. Choline as bitartrate is pretty much shit especially considering we may not even have 500 mg to work with.

The addition of an ATP salt is thoughtful, but not only does it not belong in a focus blend, creatine would also have been a more superior choice of ingredient. Club moss and Bacopa are top of the line nootropics, but they individually need at least 300 mg and standardized to be considered working doses.

The Antioxidant complex is pretty obvious, but it’s mind boggling how Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout added pretty much every known fruit extract and powder in the book for it. Any one or two of those ingredients can function as an antioxidant, so adding a mix is more like an attempt to boost sales than actually do anything worthwhile.

Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout is a really super popular brand, but not among lifters. I’ve seen more gamers drink G fuel than people who actually work out inside the gym, and that should tell you something when considering Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout as a gym supplement.

So, does Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout work?

Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout is mainly for day-to-day activities where a mild boost in physical strength and energy is helpful. It’s not really something you take when lifting 200 lbs overhead.

Does Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout have a lot of caffeine?

The 150 mg caffeine found in Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout is mild enough for you not worry about the usual side effects like jitters and crashing.

So, is Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout any good or just hype?

Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout is really overhyped as a gym supplement, but well justified as an energy drink.

Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout Review: side effects

For the most part, side effects should be well mitigated given the low dosage of caffeine plus the presence of anti-stress ingredients. If you do drink too much (and I heard Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout is quite addictive), you might end up with jitters, sweats, and the usual crash.

Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout Review: summary

Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout is perhaps one of the most popular energy drinks of all time, becoming one of the main choice of energy drinks for gamers both amateur and pro. It has a lot of ingredients that help keep the average person awake and mentally alert, which explains its popularity in the Esports scene.

With all of that said, Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout is not a good gym supplement. The dosing is poorly done, the ingredients used aren’t really for muscle growth or lifting performance, and most ingredients are generic pieces of shit if I were to be frank.

If you like the really unique flavors Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout offers, then perhaps it can be one of your little alternatives. Although the guys at the gym might buy you a decent can if they catch you drinking this before you squat.

Personally, I’d rather brew myself two cups of coffee and chalk up and lift than use Gamma Labs G Fuel pre workout in place of real gym supplements. They taste damn good, though.
