There are two serving suggestions: One scoop for light boys and two scoops for the heavy men. For the sake of clarity and consistency, I’ll be reviewing the ingredient dosages as if we’re going two scoops, because damn it I’m not a boy anymore.
- Beta-alanine. We all know this pre workout favorite for its stamina and endurance benefits, helping us have better sets and more reps. The problem is even with two scoops, you’ll just be getting 1.6 grams which is just too small for a serious lifter.
- Wait a minute…this ain’t a real pre workout! Sure, this is a really good antioxidant but there’s really nothing about it being an ingredient for pre workout supplements. And they wasted 1000 mg WTF Beachbody Performance Energize Pre-workout?!
- They boast of their caffeine coming from natural sources and not anhydrous, meaning it’s supposed to be one of those “no crash” caffeine ingredients. Hmmm….okay. I’ll buy that. We have a really tolerable dose of 200 mg of this really popular (and legal!) stimulant. I wish I can say more, but that’s what caffeine does, bro.
Okay, that was pretty underwhelming if I were to be honest. I expected more with such a huge serving size, but perhaps that was a tall order from a company that promises a beach body.

I can tell my Beachbody Performance Energize Pre-workout review won’t end on a high note. The fact that Beachbody Performance Energize Pre-workout is literally hyped up yet barely offers anything is a bad sign for the supplement industry.
I don’t even have much to analyze if I were to be completely honest. Beta alanine is weakly dosed, we have no effing idea why they added Quercetin, and the only good thing about this product is a decent dose of caffeine which is supposedly natural.
For the record, I gave Beachbody Performance Energize Pre-workout the benefit of the doubt. The serving size of 12 g for two scoops made me think the three key ingredients would be super potent and dosed. But then, Beachbody Performance Energize Pre-workout just added sugars and fillers for carbs.
If you read the fine print it says 8 of the 12 gram serving is just carbohydrates. In a pre workout, you need carbs, but if your supplement is 75% carbs, you’re selling a glorified potato powder.
Protip: Okay, let’s say you have Beachbody Performance Energize Pre-workout in your cabinet for whatever goddamn reason. How do you make it work? Simple: You take advantage of the short formula and stack it!
If you’re like most lifters, you probably have a few cans of weak supplements. Do the math, compare the ingredients, and mix them with Beachbody Performance Energize Pre-workout to have something better. I just can’t vouch for the taste, but we’re all men here, so man up and drink it like it’s your last.

There’s nothing in the label that says it’s plan-based other than the drawing of a leaf. I checked the label and at the very least, they seem to have only used natural or close-to-nature ingredients. The caffeine isn’t in anhydrous form and instead, sourced from green tea and coffee bean extracts. Despite all the signs, however, no official word on it being plant-based.

200 mg of caffeine isn’t much. My 13-year old nephew drinks more caffeine from his fancy Starbucks frappuccino than what Beachbody Performance Energize Pre-workout offers. That’s not to say it’s a weak dosage, though. My personal range is between 200 to 250 mg per serving.

Thanks for posting this. I do use Beachbody workouts (along with other forms of exercise), but I’ve NEVER been sold on the products. The “coaches” always say “natural” and “plant-bases” and “shakeology” but I truly doubt any of them ACTUALLY look into the ingredients and what they’re actually getting. It’s all about mindset though…I guess if you believe it will work, it will.
