Craze Pre Workout Review
Let me start this Craze Pre Workout review with the basics.
The original Craze was manufactured by Driven Sports, a company fronted by a rather notorious guy called Matt Cahill. This character has previously been taken to court and charged with the crime of selling unapproved drugs, with the intention of defrauding and misleading the public.1
It’s already sounding positive, right? It gets worse.
Back in 2013, the original Craze workout was banned (more on that later), hence a new version was introduced by Driven Sports, with the rather uninspiring name of Craze V2.
And that’s the supplement I will examine in this article, the V2. But don’t worry, I’ll still give you the whole alarming truth about the original banned supplement!
Listen to this.
Craze V2 was introduced almost immediately as its predecessor was banned. With the manufacturers proudly stating that:
- The legend is back.
- It will skyrocket the mind-muscle connection.
- Craze V2 will send strength and energy to stratospheric proportions.
- It heightens stamina and endurance to unbelievable levels.
This second incarnation appears to recently have been discontinued—although some old stock remains available from time to time.
But is/was it really that powerful? Keep reading this Craze Pre Workout review to find out.
How Does Craze Pre Workout Work?
This supplement comes in powder form, mixed with water, and then taken about 15-30 minutes before the start of your training session.
The ingredients are designed to enhance workout results by:
- Staving off muscle fatigue—by boosting adenosine triphosphate (ATP) levels.
- Elevating power—this supplement includes ingredients known to increase muscle energy output.
- Creating impressive pumps—through flooding the muscles with oxygenated blood.
- Heightening energy—stimulants are included to boost work capacity.
- Raising mental focus—compounds within this supplement aim to improve the mind-muscle connection.
Let’s get into some greater detail in this Craze Pre Workout review by looking at its ingredients.
Craze Pre Workout Ingredients
Down to the serious business in this Craze Pre Workout review. Take a quick glance at the ingredient label above.
Anything stands out?
Yep, you’ve got it. Every single one of this supplement’s 10 ingredients is hidden in a proprietary blend—it doesn’t state how much of each is included.
And that’s the worst sin a pre-workout can commit.
Manufacturers do this for one simple reason—because the individual doses are too small to be effective, and they don’t want you to know that.
It’s a shame, as this supplement does include some good pre-workout enhancers, including:
- Creatine—boosts ATP production, which powers the muscles, reducing the chance of fatigue.2
- Betaine anhydrous—an amino acid which can elevate muscle power output.3
- Tyrosine—improves brain function and elevates focus.4
- Citrulline—raises production of the vasodilator nitric oxide—boosting blood flow and thus improving pumps and reducing fatigue.5
- Choline bitartrate—boosts energy and improves concentration.6
- Caffeine anhydrous—a stimulant that can increase energy and raise focus.7
Other ingredients: greater galangal, little clubmoss, green coffee bean, and velvet bean.
How does Craze compare against the best pre-workouts on the market? I’ll show you in the next section of this Craze Pre Workout Review.
Craze Pre Workout Ingredients Breakdown
The most potent and effective pre-workouts contain the following scientifically proven training enhancers. Let’s see how Craze matches up.
- ✓Beta Alanine
- ✓Citrulline Malate
- ✓Betaine Anhydrous
- ✘Black pepper extract (Bioperine)
Containing just four of the essential pre-workout ingredients—normally I would just consider this an “average” pre-workout.
But, I can’t even give it that much praise.
Considering all the ingredients are contained in a 4.75-gram proprietary blend, with none of them being quantified, it’s an awfully underdosed supplement.
Let me give you an example.
The best pre-workouts contain around 6 grams of citrulline—on its own, that’s higher than the entire formulation of Craze’s 10 ingredients.
If it wasn’t funny, it’d be embarrassing.
Was Craze Banned?
Yes—and it’s insane.
When the original Craze was introduced—it proved a massive hit. It won New Supplement of the Year in 2012 from a leading bodybuilding site—and users remarked what a phenomenal buzz it provided.
Not surprising—as it basically contained methamphetamine.
There’s little wonder that guys taking this pre-workout considered it to be freakin’ amazing. This supplement was found to include N-α-diethyl phenethylamine (NADEP)—a massive stimulant thought to be stronger than the banned ephedrine.8 9
But there’s more.
This methamphetamine wasn’t declared on the ingredient label. Which makes sense I guess—you’re hardly going to tell the world you’re putting recreational drugs in your supplements.
And it becomes even more intriguing.
After being confronted with this accusation—Driven Sports denied that it contained any illegal substances. Instead, it suggested that the immense buzz being received from this supplement was down to the inclusion of dendrobium—orchid extract.
Which was, to be honest, absolute trash.
Anyway, after numerous letters, writs, demands, and lawyer fees were made—Driven Sports agreed to destroy any remaining stock of this supplement and withdraw it from sale—and then released Craze V2, the supplement we are looking at in this article.10
Nevertheless, this story remains one of the most unbelievable in supplement history. The word is, there’s still some of this product kicking around on the black market. But as this methamphetamine is severely under-researched—if you do come across any—don’t touch it.
Craze Pre Workout Side Effects
We’ve seen in this Craze Pre Workout review that it’s severely underdosed—hence the chance of suffering any side effects at all are pretty low.
That being said, some ingredients could cause:
- Paresthesia (“tingling”).
- Stomach upsets.
Craze Pre Workout Before After Results
Personally, as I’ve already made clear in this Craze Pre Workout review—I consider it to be an ineffective performance enhancer.
But, have guys using this product day in and day out seen any results?
Here’s what they’ve been saying.
“Not as good as the original Craze.”
“No energy boost….or any improved workout intensity.”
“Had more of a buzz from eating an apple. Pointless”
“Tastes of rotting sugar…felt no highs or boosts. Avoid.”
Where to Buy Craze Pre Workout?
I’m guessing after reading this Craze Pre Workout Review you aren’t exactly reaching for your wallet.
But, if you are “crazy” and want to purchase an ineffective supplement—you’re gonna struggle bro.
It seems that not long after release, Driven Sports dropped this pre-workout, replacing it with yet another incarnation—CRZ-The O.G.
Some old stock of Craze V2 is available from time to time—currently, it’s on eBay and suppz.com. Finding craze pre workout for sale is difficult.
Craze Pre Workout Review Conclusion
With a notorious owner and a history of selling products that contain both illegal and undeclared ingredients—that should be cause enough to avoid this version of Craze.
But, there’s more.
Simply taking the supplement on face value—it’s ineffective. With just 4.75 grams of unquantified ingredients, and missing many of the big performance enhancers seen in the best pre-workouts—it’s not going to improve your training, at all.
Here’s the bottom line in this Craze Pre Workout review.
Steer clear, and instead choose a pre-workout that contains the potent ingredients I listed earlier.
