Chul Soon Hwang Workout Program
Allegedly, when Chul Soon Hwang first began training, he would do 3000 crunches a day.
This is how he claims he achieved that Instagram-famous, super-chiseled eight-pack. However, although this workout formed incredibly ripped abs—he found that he wasn’t gaining sufficient mass.
He changed his approach by primarily focusing on compound movements—working on multiple muscle groups simultaneously. This included his favorite exercises—deadlifts, squats, bench presses and pull-ups.
Chul Soon Hwang believes that these four basic exercises are sufficient to sculpt a monstrous, massive body—aiming for the classic physique of the Golden Era.
However, he still utilizes a few muscle isolation movements— helping him shape and maintain his muscles and ensuring his physique remains proportionate. These movements include wide-grip lat pulldowns, cable and rear delt dumbbell flyes.
During peak season, Chul Soon Hwang spends around four hours a day working out.
Here’s a typical weekly workout:

Chul Soon Hwang Diet
Chul follows a super-strict diet based on high protein with a moderate amount of carbohydrate and fat intake. He consumes his daily carbs in the morning after his first workout.

Chul Soon Hwang states that he eats a meal every three hours, each meal weighing around half a pound or more—sometimes eating up to three pounds of chicken per day.
Although unappealing, he frequently liquidizes a whole chicken and blends with fruit to create a protein-rich meaty shake.

Is Chul Soon Hwang Using Steroids?
Chul Soon claims to be all-natural and denies the use of any steroids. He won the Musclemania Universe Natural Pro Contest three years ago and passed the show’s drug test.
Chul Soon Hwang said:
Using steroids probably helps you build bigger and stronger muscles—but it doesn’t help you to balance your shape.
However, his gains have been rapid—raising questions about the Chul Soon transformation time. In 2009 he won the Musclemania lightweight section—three years later he had gained at least 40 pounds and was competing in the Heavyweight division.
This enormous leap, combined with his enormous delts and chest, appears highly suspicious.
If that’s purely liquidized chicken and not synthetics—then I’m changing my diet.
Chul Soon Hwang Before and After
Chul Soon Hwang’s dramatic 12-year transformation earned him the nickname—Asian Arnold.
You can see from some of Chul Soon childhood pics that he had a very small frame. So, it’s inspiring that he’s built such a massive physique.

Chul Soon Hwang Supplements
In a 2014 interview, Chul Soon Hwang was asked—what supplements do you take?
He responded:
I am not taking any now…but I have to drink alcohol. I don’t care. The three elements of fitness—alcohol, women and cigarettes.
While this may be a humorous response—it’s plainly untrue.
We know from his diet program (and his size) that at the very least he uses protein supplements. I’d also guess he also uses both glutamine and BCAAs (branched-chain amino acids).
