1. How much do you bench?
Now this list isn’t in any particular order, but we’ll be damned if this isn’t the most annoying and typical question asked when someone notices you have a bit of muscle on you!
2. Where do you buy your protein from?
With all due respect, we love giving advice to people who ask for it – but this question has driven even the most patient lifter to near-insanity. It’s like asking “hey, where do you buy your bread from?” See? It get’s a bit trivial doesn’t it? Most whey protein isolate will do you just fine!
3. What is the best exercise for biceps?
News flash – biceps aren’t the only muscle on your body, and there isn’t one specific exercise that is the ‘best’ for them considering different parts of the bicep will be hit via different exercises.
When people ask us this question we resist not answering with “do some dips”.
4. But won’t working out make me too big?
Wait, what did you just ask? You realise you can stop working out whenever you like? Meaning you can’t actually ever get too big, unless you wan’t to get that big, which counteracts this entire question. Just lift!
5. Are you sure it’s okay to eat carbohydrates after 7pm?
No, it’s not okay. In fact, it’s illegal to eat carbohydrates in most countries after 7pm. Suspects are usually strapped down and forced to vomit the food they just ingested for testing, if tests show that there are no carbs in the vomit sample, the suspect can then eat his/her own vomit again for maximum gains.
6. Is creatine a steroid?
Yes. The worst of its kind too. It’s so bad that you can find it readily available at most local super markets, and is widely commercialised to cover up the dark truth behind it.
7. Why do you eat so much? Won’t you get fat?
Believe it or not, the more exercise you do, the more calories you burn. The more calories you burn, the more food you need. Have you ever met a bodybuilder who eats according to the serving suggestions? (scoffs)
8. Won’t lifting stunt your growth?
Aside from countless studies showing that proper weightlifting does not impact or stunt growth (it only effects it if you damage your own growth plates, which can only be done via improper lifting).
Ask anyone under 6 foot if they would swap their gains for height permanently… Wait, that would just be another annoying question!
9. How do you find the time to workout?
You might want to sit down for this, as it is quite mind blowing. There are 24 hours in the day. You sleep roughly for 6-7 of them. You work roughly on average about 8 of them. Which means, you have about 8-9 hours left over to play with – the only difference is, you decide to spend it Keeping Up with the Kardashians while I decide to spend it keeping up with my health and well being.
It takes one hour out of your day to make a transformation of a lifetime. So dedicate 1/24th of your day to lifting weights and come thank me in a few months.
