Don’t just aim to lose weight, aim to lose fat. You don’t want to lose all your hard earned muscles while you’re getting shredded.
How can you make sure you are only losing fat?
Well, you can start by going over these 7 mistakes first and see if that helps you out in any way.
1. Too much “diet” soda
Having 2-3 cans per week won’t hurt you, but when you’re actually starting to drink a couple per day it won’t do you any good.
You don’t all this caffeine from a shitty product like that. If you honestly need so much caffeine you need to make sure you’re getting it from a healthy source. Organic coffee or green tea would be the best choice.
2. Not eating enough
A good rule is to only reduce your daily calorie intake with only 200cals (I’m assuming you were already eating enough to maintain your weight).
Otherwise you’ll only be losing weight you’ll gain right back.
Remember, the goal is fat loss not weight loss. Unless of course you want to look like skinny and weak as f*ck.
3. Eating “fake” health food
It’s now trendy to be healthy. The results: The big food corporations market their shite to look like it’s healthy. They’ll put “low-fat” or some shit like that on it to make you think it’s healthy and then instead it has shit loads of sugar in it.
It works for the food companies $$$$$ but it doesn’t for you.
4. Binge drinking
Look mate you’re all grown up now. I’m not here to tell you what to do and what not to.
But if you’re serious about getting shredded….. Stop drinking so much on the weekends. As a matter of fact don’t do it all.
Your abs will thank you for it.
5. You’re not eating your veggies
I know you’re a big man and you say only women and crossfitters eat veggies.
Cut the crap.
Eat your damn veggies and loads of it. Have veggies with every meal and order/make a green smoothie once per day.
6. Not enough water
I could tell you all about the science behind why you need to drink a lot of water….. but it doesn’t really matter.
What actually matters is that it’s necessary to drink a lot of water for overall health and especially when trying to lose fat.
Aim to drink about about 150 oz of water per day (4-5 liters).
7. Fear of carbs
The low-carb diet has been taking the world by storm lately.
But here’s the thing. Carbs are essential for you to live.
Make sure you’re eating your whole foods like rice, quinoa, potatoes and oats.
