Default Gym mentality

Just wondering what everyone does to either get psyched up for the gym or a big lift. Is there a certain song or thought process you use?

I personally use reverse psycholgy for some reason. When I am going for a heavy set I visualize the weight being super heavy, then when I start my set the weight feels lighter then I thought it would be. Don't remember how or why I started doing this but it works for me.

Before the gym, I listen to heavy music and bodybuilding motivation vids. When going for a set, I'll concentrate on the music and let myself get pissed.

I look in the mirror and say to myself, tomorrow you will be better than today. Then I go make it happen. Srs.

Of course I listen to music while actually working out, but the above is the only thing I do to get started.

I just listen to music that gets me in the groove and clear my mind of everything except moving the weight.

I don't listen to music.
I focus on my breathing. Focus on my form and try to clear my head and connect with the muscle

No music would kill me. It seems like every time I take my ear-buds out I am swarmed with people wanting to have a nice little chat. Music keeps me focused, and keeps people away as long as they think I'm busy.

I'd kill myself without my headphones, I gotta have something to block out the stupid music at my gym...shit makes me want to throw a plate at the speakers.

They play a retarded ass mix...it's like club music based off of pop...all the stupid crap that you never wanted to hear on the radio to begin with that blond high school chicks listen to. I think maybe once per month I hear a song come on (when my headphones aren't on) that I actually like.

I had about a month when I couldn't listen to my own music back when I was at LA Fitness. I started to like what they were playing. Thank God I got my music back before I sunk too low.

24 Hour occasionally plays something hard rock-ish, but definitely not enough of it. Oh well, I guess the music brings in the ladies, so I can't complain.

I like reading motivational quotes.
There's one that I love "when you enter the gym, you should be thinking 'I'm going to give it everything I have'. When you're leaving the gym, you should be thinking 'I gave it everything I had'.

Before I workout I Visualise I'm on a battlefield, and I picture my self screaming and charging at the enemy swinging a huge battle axe, and then I do my heaviest set.... With metal playing in my ears of course!

I deal with pushy idiots all day. The gym is really my way of revealing stress. Some people drink, eat... do drugs. I go to the gym.

This song + revisiting an event from earlier in the day that grinds my gears. Good to go.
