Default Is creatine safe?

I play baseball in hs,my coach told us that creatine was not worth it and that it had some severe side effects.I was talking to my cousin and he told me that it didn't as long as your diet was in check and I drank enough water.I workout with intensity twice a week, but probably will be adding an extra day to that split. My diet is pretty good,I get enough carbs, protein and fats, just wondering for any suggestions.I just turned 18 btw

Your coach is just uneducated.

Pretty sure,we've had this discussion before bro...Coach Pace is a good coach but he is too old school,I bet he doesn't even know what gatorade is lol...in all seriousness thought, creatine is safe.you can re-read all of the studies I showed you one more time. The only side effect I can think of is water retention which is not that bad anyways

Ha, same!

As it has already been said creatine is safe, you find it in natural sources like red meat so it has to be good

creatine is the longest studied, most widely used, and most PROVEN effective supplement on the market - it is perfectly safe when used as directed.

Guy I work with was asking me about it the other night and was pulling out the usual broscience answers he had heard. He picked some up since and I told him he won't regret it.

Yeah read that article was very good. Thought about printing it off for this guy I know at the gym that tried to tell me that creatine will ruin your kidneys. I asked if he knows how it actually works and he had no idea. I just shook me head and walked away.

99% of people even in the fitness industry are unaware of how creatine works.

I was definitely one of the skeptics when it came to creatine. I was concerned about what I had read from "doctors" reports on creatine's side effects, and possible long term effects. I suppose anything not taken in moderation could be harmful. However, I'm convinced that as long as I don't overdo it, and drink plenty of water, I'll be fine now, and 20 years down the road.

Alot of times your family doctor knows very little if anything about supplements. So when people always say my doctor said don't take it, thats because the doctor doesn't know so they say don't take it because they have no clue and can't say take it and then if something happens they are liable.

some still discourage people from supplementing with it because they are must likely not well informed

not exactly I kinda said that, I meant that some cardiologist and such are saying that and that is not their area of expertise, just like doctors recommending diets and they are not nutritionists and such no parroting here bud

creatine is safe for everyone, including teenagers...it's not a hormone so it won't affect your growth and such.but I'd rather see a teenager figure out their diet than buy a supplement.
